How to Knit Wide Braid Model baby cardigan with Two Skewers

Materials You'll Need

Instructions
Step 1: Cast on 70 stitches.
Step 2: Knit 10 rows in garter stitch.
Step 3: Begin the
wide braid model stitch. The
pattern goes as follows:
Row 1: Knit 2, slip 2 stitches purlwise, knit 2. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, ending with knit 2.
Row 2: Purl 2, knit 2, pass slipped stitches over knitted stitches. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, ending with purl 2. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until your work measures 9 inches from the beginning.
Step 4: Shape the armholes by binding off 6 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows.
Step 5: Decrease for the neck as follows:
Row 1: Knit 16 stitches, bind off 8 stitches, knit to the end of the row.
Row 2: Purl to the last stitch before the bound-off stitches, p2tog, purl to the end of the row.
Row 3: Knit to the last stitch before the bound-off stitches, k2tog, knit to the end of the row. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have 20 stitches left on your needles.
Step 6: Knit 10 more rows in garter stitch.
Step 7: Bind off and weave in ends.
Step 8: Sew on buttons if desired. And that's it! You now have a beautiful wide braid model
