How to Knit a Gorgeous Waterfall Pattern Sweater with Two Skewers

If you're a knitting enthusiast looking for a new challenge, creating a stunning waterfall pattern sweater might be just what you need. The elegant design features a cascading series of stitches that look like flowing water, hence the name. While it may seem like a daunting task, with the right technique and some patience, you can easily create a beautiful waterfall sweater that will make everyone envious.

What You'll Need:

  • Two skeins of bulky weight yarn in your desired color
  • A pair of US size 10 knitting needles
  • Scissors
  • A tapestry needle

Step 1: Cast On

Using the long-tail cast-on method, cast on 70 stitches on your skewer.

Step 2: Knit the Ribbing

For the ribbing, knit two, purl two across the entire first row. Repeat this pattern until the ribbing measures around 2 inches in length.

Step 3: Begin the Waterfall Pattern

Now it's time to begin the waterfall pattern. The pattern is created by knitting a series of short rows, wrapping and turning the last stitch each time. Here's how to do it:

  1. Knit the first 10 stitches of the row.
  2. Wrap and turn the next stitch by bringing the yarn to the front of your work, slipping the next stitch purlwise, moving the yarn to the back of your work, and slipping the stitch back to the left-hand skewer.
  3. Purl 10 stitches.
  4. Wrap and turn the next stitch by bringing the yarn to the back of your work, slipping the next stitch purlwise, moving the yarn to the front of your work, and slipping the stitch back to the left-hand skewer.
  5. Knit 10 stitches.
  6. Wrap and turn the next stitch as before.
  7. Purl 10 stitches.
  8. Wrap and turn the next stitch as before.
Repeat this pattern until you reach the end of the row. Turn your work and start again with knit 10 stitches, wrap and turn, purl 10 stitches, wrap and turn, knit 10 stitches, wrap and turn, purl 10 stitches, wrap and turn. Continue until you reach the desired length of your sweater.

Step 4: Finish the Sweater

Once you've completed the waterfall pattern, knit the remaining rows until the sweater reaches your desired length. Finish by knitting the ribbing pattern again for another 2 inches. Bind off all stitches and weave in any loose ends.

Voila! You now have a stunning waterfall model sweater that you created with your own two hands. Wear it with pride and enjoy the compliments that are sure to come your way.

With a bit of practice, this pattern will become second nature, and you'll be able to create beautiful sweaters in no time.
