Crochet Tunisian Flower Motif
Crochet Tunisian flower motif is a lovely and intricate design that can be used for a variety of projects, such as blankets, pillows, and even clothing. Here's how to make it:

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in the colors of your choice
  • Tunisian crochet hook in a size appropriate for your yarn
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
Instructions:

  1. Start with a chain of 24 stitches.

  2. Work a foundation row of Tunisian simple stitch (TSS) across the chain.

  3. Work the following row using Tunisian knit stitch (TKS):

    • *Insert hook under the vertical bar of the next stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop. Repeat from * across the row.
  4. Work the following row using Tunisian purl stitch (TPS):

    • *Insert hook from right to left under the next vertical bar, yarn over, and pull up a loop. Repeat from * across the row.
  5. Work the following row using TKS.

  6. Repeat steps 4-5 until you have a total of 10 rows.

  7. Cut the yarn and fasten off.

  8. To make the petals, attach a new color of yarn to one of the corners of the motif with a slip stitch.

  9. Work the following sequence in each corner:

    • Chain 1.
    • Work 2 single crochet (SC) stitches in the same stitch as the slip stitch.
    • Work 1 half double crochet (HDC) stitch in the next stitch.
    • Work 3 double crochet (DC) stitches in the next stitch.
    • Work 1 HDC stitch in the next stitch.
    • Work 2 SC stitches in the next stitch.
    • Chain 1 and slip stitch in the same stitch as the first SC stitch.
  10. Repeat step 9 in each corner of the motif.

  11. Cut the yarn and fasten off.

  12. Use a yarn needle to weave in any loose ends and to block the motif to the desired shape.

With these steps, you can create a beautiful and unique crochet Tunisian flower motif. You can use these motifs to create larger projects, or use them individually as decorative accents. Experiment with different colors and yarn weights to make your projects truly one-of-a-kind.

Happy crocheting!
