Making seamless booties with two skewers

Here is a basic pattern for making seamless booties with two knitting needles:

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn (about 50-100 yards)
• Size 6 (4mm) knitting needles
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Instructions:

1. Cast on 28 stitches. Divide the stitches onto two needles, with 14 stitches on each needle.
2. Join in the round by knitting the first stitch of the first needle together with the first stitch of the second needle. This will create a seamless join.
3. Knit in the round until the bootie measures about 2 inches (5 cm) from the cast-on edge.
4. Decrease for the toe as follows:
   • Knit 1 stitch, knit 2 together, knit to the last 3 stitches on the first needle, knit 2 together, knit 1 stitch.
   • Knit 1 stitch, knit 2 together, knit to the last 3 stitches on the second needle, knit 2 together, knit 1 stitch.

6. Fold the bootie in half so that the toe and heel are aligned. Seam the back of the bootie using the tapestry needle and yarn.
