Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (about 50-100 yards)
- Size 6 (4mm) knitting needles
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Cast on 28 stitches. Divide the stitches onto two needles, with 14 stitches on each needle.
- Join in the round by knitting the first stitch of the first needle together with the first stitch of the second needle. This will create a seamless join.
- Knit in the round until the bootie measures about 2 inches (5 cm) from the cast-on edge.
- Decrease for the toe as follows:
- Knit 1 stitch, knit 2 together, knit to the last 3 stitches on the first needle, knit 2 together, knit 1 stitch.
- Knit 1 stitch, knit 2 together, knit to the last 3 stitches on the second needle, knit 2 together, knit 1 stitch.
- Repeat these two rows until you have 8 stitches remaining (4 stitches on each needle).
- Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle and pull it through the remaining 8 stitches. Pull tight to close the toe and weave in the end.
- Fold the bootie in half so that the toe and heel are aligned. Seam the back of the bootie using the tapestry needle and yarn.
