How to make ribbon rose

Materials Needed:

  1. Satin ribbon or any other ribbon of your choice (about 1 inch wide and at least 18 inches long)
  2. Scissors
  3. Hot glue gun (optional)
  4. Needle and thread (optional)
Step 1: Prepare the Ribbon Cut a piece of ribbon that is approximately 18 inches long. This length can be adjusted depending on the desired size of your rose. Keep in mind that the longer the ribbon, the larger the rose will be.

Step 2: Create the Center Hold one end of the ribbon between your thumb and index finger, forming a small loop. This loop will be the center of your rose. Make sure the tail of the ribbon is at the back.

Step 3: Start Rolling Begin rolling the ribbon tightly around the loop you created in the center. As you roll, twist the ribbon slightly to give the rose a natural look. Continue rolling until you reach the desired size for the rose.

Step 4: Secure the Rose Once you have rolled the entire ribbon, carefully release your grip, allowing the rose to loosen slightly. Hold the base of the rose with your fingers to keep it intact. You can secure the rose in place using one of the following methods:

  • Option 1: Use a hot glue gun to apply a small amount of glue on the underside of the rose. Press the end of the ribbon against the glue to secure it.
  • Option 2: Thread a needle and insert it through the base of the rose, securing the end of the ribbon with a few stitches. Knot the thread tightly and trim any excess.

Step 5: Adjust and Shape Gently adjust the petals of the rose by spreading them out or arranging them in a more appealing way. You can also pull the edges of the ribbon slightly to create a ruffled effect.

Step 6: Finishing Touches Trim any excess ribbon from the tail, leaving a small section to tuck underneath the rose. You can use a hot glue gun to secure the tail or use a needle and thread to stitch it in place.

Optional: Embellish the rose further by attaching a small button, bead, or a leaf-shaped piece of fabric to the base using a hot glue gun.

And there you have it! You have successfully created a beautiful ribbon rose. Feel free to experiment with different ribbon widths, colors, and textures to create a variety of roses to suit your projects and personal style.
