Here's an easy pattern for making booties with two knitting needles:Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (about 50-100 yards)
- Size 6 (4mm) knitting needles
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Cast on 30 stitches. Divide the stitches onto two needles, with 15 stitches on each needle.
- Row 1: Knit all stitches.
- Row 2: Purl all stitches.
- Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the bootie measures about 2 inches (5 cm) from the cast-on edge.
- Begin shaping the toe:
- Row 1: Knit 1, knit 2 together, knit to the last 3 stitches on the first needle, knit 2 together, knit 1.
- Row 2: Knit all stitches.
- Row 3: Knit 1, knit 2 together, knit to the last 3 stitches on the second needle, knit 2 together, knit 1.
- Row 4: Knit all stitches.
- Repeat these four rows until you have 8 stitches remaining (4 stitches on each needle).
- Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle and pull it through the remaining 8 stitches. Pull tight to close the toe and weave in the end.
- Fold the bootie in half so that the toe and heel are aligned. Seam the back of the bootie using the tapestry needle and yarn.
