Tunisian knitting, also known as Afghan crochet, is a unique crochet technique that combines elements of both knitting and crochet. Here are the steps to get started:

Begin with a Tunisian crochet hook. These hooks are longer than regular crochet hooks and have a stopper on the end to prevent stitches from slipping off.

Make a foundation chain. This is the first row of stitches and it is worked in the same way as a regular crochet chain.

Work the first row of stitches. Insert the hook into the second chain from the hook, yarn over and pull up a loop. Continue to do this in each chain until you have a loop on the hook for every stitch in the foundation chain.

Work the second row of stitches. Insert the hook from right to left under the next vertical bar, yarn over and pull up a loop. Continue to do this across the row.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have the desired length of fabric.

To finish, work a final row of single crochet stitches. Insert the hook into the last stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over again and pull through both loops on the hook. Continue to do this in each stitch across the row.

Bind off by working a slip stitch in each stitch across the final row.

Tunisian knitting can be used to create a variety of stitch patterns and textures, so feel free to experiment and have fun with it!
