Simple slippers with no seams on the sole

Here's a simple pattern for making slippers with no seams on the sole:

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn (about 100g)

Circular knitting needles (size US 8 or 9)

Stitch markers

Tapestry needle

Pattern:

Cast on 32 stitches onto circular knitting needles.

Place a stitch marker at the beginning of the round, and join in the round by knitting the first stitch of the cast-on row together with the last stitch of the cast-on row.

Knit every round until the slipper is the desired length. For a standard women's size slipper, about 6 inches is a good length.

Begin decreasing for the toe. Knit the first two stitches together, then knit the next 6 stitches. Repeat this pattern (knit 2 together, knit 6) until the end of the round.

    Knit the next round even.

Knit the first stitch, then knit the next two stitches together. Knit the next 5 stitches, then repeat this pattern (knit 1, knit 2 together, knit 5) until the end of the round.

    Knit the next round even.

Knit the first stitch, then knit the next two stitches together. Knit the next 4 stitches, then repeat this pattern (knit 1, knit 2 together, knit 4) until the end of the round.

Continue in this manner, knitting two fewer stitches before each decrease round, until you have only 8 stitches remaining.

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 6 inches. Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle and weave it through the remaining stitches, pulling tight to close the toe.

Weave in all ends and turn the slipper right side out.

The beauty of this pattern is that there are no seams on the sole of the slipper, making them extra comfortable to wear. If you want to add a little extra padding to the bottom of the slipper, you can cut out pieces of felt to fit and sew them onto the bottom. Enjoy your cozy new slippers!
