Join the chain with a slip stitch to form a ring.

Chain 2 (this will count as your first double crochet).

Work 11 double crochets into the ring. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain 2.

Chain 2 and work 2 double crochets into each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain 2. You should have 24 stitches.

Chain 2 and work 1 double crochet into each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain 2.

Repeat step 6 until your coaster measures approximately 4-5 inches in diameter.

To finish, fasten off by cutting the yarn and pulling it through the final loop on the hook. Use a tapestry needle to weave in any loose ends if necessary.

These coasters are simple and quick to make, and can be customized with different colors and yarns to match your decor. You can also experiment with different stitch patterns and embellishments (such as edging or appliques) to make them even more unique.
