Crocheting a woven dress for a toddler is a fun and rewarding project. Here's a basic pattern for a dress that should fit a child aged 2-3 years:

Materials needed:

Worsted weight yarn (in any color)

Crochet hook (size H or I)

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Instructions:

Bodice:

    Chain 44 stitches.

Starting in the second chain from the hook, work 1 single crochet into each chain stitch across.

Chain 1 and turn. Work 1 single crochet into each stitch across for a total of 43 single crochet stitches.

Repeat step 3 until you have a total of 16 rows.

Chain 1 and turn. Work 1 single crochet into each of the first 11 stitches. Chain 21, skip 21 stitches, and work 1 single crochet into each of the last 11 stitches.

Chain 1 and turn. Work 1 single crochet into each stitch across, including the stitches in the chain.

Repeat step 6 until the skirt is as long as you want it to be.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Straps:

Join yarn to one side of the bodice with a slip stitch.

    Chain 25 stitches.

Starting in the second chain from the hook, work 1 single crochet into each chain stitch across.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Repeat steps 1-4 on the other side of the bodice.

Assembly:

Fold the dress in half, with the wrong side facing out. Sew up the side seams using a whip stitch.

Sew the straps onto the back of the dress, about 1 inch in from the edge of the bodice.

Sew on any embellishments, such as buttons or flowers, if desired.

This is a basic pattern, so you can customize it by using different colors or yarn types, adding edging or embellishments, or adjusting the size to fit your needs. Always remember to check your gauge and adjust your hook size accordingly to ensure that your finished project fits properly.
