Here is a quick and simple pattern for knitting a vest with two needles:

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn

Size 8 knitting needles

Tapestry needle

Instructions:

    Cast on 70 stitches.

Work in a knit 1, purl 1 ribbing for 4 rows.

Switch to stockinette stitch (knit the right side rows, purl the wrong side rows) and work for 12 inches.

To shape the armholes, bind off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.

Decrease 1 stitch at each armhole edge on the next 4 rows. (62 stitches remain)

Work even until the vest measures 20 inches from the beginning.

To shape the neck, bind off the center 18 stitches and work each side separately.

Decrease 1 stitch at the neck edge on every row 3 times.

Work even until the vest measures 23 inches from the beginning.

    Bind off all stitches.

    Sew the shoulder seams.

    Sew the side seams.

    Weave in all ends.

This pattern is a basic template that can be customized by adding stitch patterns or changing the shaping to suit your preferences. It's a great project for beginners and can be completed quickly using just two needles.
