How to Knit a Round-Shaped Loofah with Flower Added

If you're looking for a fun and unique knitting project, you might want to try making a round-shaped loofah with a beautiful flower added. This adorable little item is a great way to show off your knitting skills, while also adding a pop of color to your decor or wardrobe.

To get started, you'll need a few basic knitting supplies:

Bulky weight yarn in your choice of color

Size 11 knitting needles

A stitch marker

Flower embellishments of your choice

Once you have your supplies, you're ready to get started on your project.

Step 1: Cast On Stitches

Cast on 60 stitches using your size 11 needles and your choice of yarn color. Then, join in the round being careful not to twist your stitches. Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of your round.

Step 2: Knit the First Few Rounds

For the first few rounds of your loofah, you'll be knitting in a simple stockinette stitch. Knit every stitch for the first round, then purl every stitch for the second round. Repeat these two rounds until your loofah measures approximately 5 inches in height.

Step 3: Start the Flower Pattern

Next, you'll start the flower pattern. On the next round, knit 2 stitches together, and then yarn over. Repeat this pattern all the way around your row.

On the following round, knit all the knit stitches and purl all the purl stitches. When you come to a yarn over stitch, simply knit into the front and back of the loop to create two stitches.

Step 4: Continue the Flower Pattern

Repeat the flower pattern until your loofah measures approximately 8 inches from the bottom edge. Then, you'll begin the decrease rounds.

Step 5: Decrease Rounds

On your next round, knit 8 stitches and then knit 2 stitches together. Repeat this pattern all the way around your row.

On the following round, knit every stitch. Repeat these two rounds until you have only 6 stitches remaining.

Step 6: Finish the Fiber

Bind off your stitches, and weave in the ends. Then, add your flower embellishments by sewing them onto the top of your loofah.

And there you have it! Your very own round-shaped loofah with a beautiful flower added. This project is not only super cute, but it's also a great way to practice your knitting skills and add a touch of handmade charm to your decor or wardrobe.
