Slow Cooker Whole Chicken Directions:

Remove the giblets from the cavity and pat the chicken completely dry inside and out with paper towels.
Mix the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl.
Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the entire chicken, including under the wings and lightly inside the cavity.
Tie the legs together with kitchen twine and tuck the wing tips under the body if desired.
Place the chicken breast-side up in a 6-quart slow cooker with no added liquid.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh (without touching bone) reads 165°F.
Transfer the chicken carefully to a cutting board and rest for 10 minutes before carving.
For crispier skin, place the cooked chicken on a baking sheet and broil in a standard oven on HIGH for 4 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
Carve into 8 equal pieces: 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 drumsticks, 2 wings.
