Pour the onion butter mixture evenly over the potatoes.
Toss directly in the slow cooker until all pieces are evenly coated and glossy with visible onion flakes.
Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours or on HIGH for 3 hours until the potatoes are fork-tender.
During the final hour of cooking, stir once to redistribute the butter and onion mixture.
Turn off the slow cooker, stir gently to coat in the sauce, and serve hot.
