Root Beer Baked Beans Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crisp, about 8-10 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and cool. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the drippings in the skillet.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté in the bacon drippings over medium heat until tender and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- In a greased baking dish, combine the sautéed onion, crumbled turkey bacon, low-sodium pork and beans, diet root beer, sugar-free BBQ sauce, and hot sauce. Stir well to mix all ingredients evenly.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 55 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and develop a caramelized crust. Once done, remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
