Golden, bubbly cheese melts into deeply savory onion flavor with tender, sauce-soaked noodles underneath. Each scoop delivers creamy richness balanced by that classic sweet-savory onion depth. It’s the kind of comforting bake that disappears fast at the table.

Oven-Baked Amish French Onion Noodles Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
Spread the uncooked egg noodles evenly in the bottom of the prepared dish.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the condensed French onion soup and sour cream until completely smooth.
Pour the soup mixture evenly over the uncooked noodles, ensuring all noodles are coated. Press noodles gently into the liquid with the back of a spoon.
Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese evenly over the top in a loose layer.
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake covered for 40 minutes, until noodles are tender in the center.
Remove foil and bake uncovered for 12 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and bubbling.
Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Cut into 8 equal portions (each portion approximately 1 1/4 cups). Serve warm.
