Line a baking sheet or shallow heat-safe pan with parchment paper and dust it very lightly with the confectioner’s sugar.
Combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water in a heavy saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Stop stirring and continue cooking until the syrup reaches 300°F, the hard-crack stage.
Remove the pan from the heat immediately.
Carefully stir in the flavored oil and enough natural red food coloring to create a clear bright red color.
Pour the hot candy mixture onto the prepared surface and let it spread naturally.
Let it cool until firm but still slightly warm, then score and cut it into pieces, or let it cool completely and break it into rustic shards.
Toss the candy pieces very lightly with the confectioner’s sugar only as needed to prevent sticking.
Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
