Whisk milk with 1/2 cup shredded cheese in a bowl until combined.
Sprinkle uncooked noodles evenly over the chicken mixture.
Pour milk and cheese mixture over noodles and press noodles down so they are submerged.
Cover tightly with foil.
Bake for 40 minutes until noodles are tender and chicken is cooked through.
Remove foil, sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese evenly on top.
Bake uncovered for 10 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden.
