3-Ingredient Oven Beef Bake Directions:
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Place the roast, fat-side up, in a deep 9x13-inch metal baking pan or roasting pan.
Whisk the broth and barbecue sauce together. Pour over and around the beef, then cover the pan tightly with heavy-duty foil.
Bake for 3–4 hours, until the beef is fork-tender, checking after 3 hours. If needed, continue cooking covered in 30-minute increments.
Remove the foil and spoon the juices over the roast. Increase the oven to 375°F and bake uncovered for 20–30 minutes, basting once, until the surface is glossy and the sauce has reduced.
Rest in the pan for 10–15 minutes. Slice against the grain or pull into large pieces, then spoon the sauce over the beef.
Practical Woman's Secret
Keep the pan tightly sealed until the beef is tender. If the sauce is still thin afterward, transfer the beef to a covered platter and simmer the pan juices in a saucepan until thickened.
Serving and Storage
Serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice or vegetables, or shred for sandwiches.
Refrigerate leftovers with their juices in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat covered at 300°F until hot throughout.
